Position Overview
To provide LEAN / Continuous Improvement leadership and engineering process support for a nylon 6 BCF carpet fiber manufacturing facility.
Job Description
Lead and facilitate the plant Lean process including the Lean Steering team. Utilize Lean tools including but not limited to 5S, Kaizen, Kata, Tier Meetings, Strategic Planning, Standard Work, Cause & Effect, Product Flow, SMED and Visual Workplace.
Utilize Lean Tools to develop solutions to process and safety issues.
Responsible for working with various groups (e.g. customers, tech service, quality, production) to resolve quality and production issues.
Utilize Continuous Improvement methods to meet site goals for % Q1 Efficiency and % Waste.
Establish, maintain, and issue process specifications and operating instructions.
Act as Certified Project Manager (CPM) for site capital and expense projects.
Coordinate activities related to product changes, preventative maintenance, and production trials with maintenance, lab, and extrusion staffs.
Work on a variety of projects to improve/replace production equipment (guides, pumps, etc) to maintain quality, which includes interaction with outside vendors.
Participate in Site Environmental efforts/projects and special plant safety activities as appropriate.
Other duties/projects as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
A four year college degree in a technical discipline is required; Engineering degree is preferred.
LEAN process experience is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated group process facilitation skills is required.
Very good written and verbal communication skills are needed.
Good computer skills and use of Google programs/apps are needed.
Five years manufacturing experience is preferred.
Ability to work minimal overtime and a moderate amount of travel are needed.
Able to work with minimal supervision.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
