Where the Chemistry Happensâ€
Operator II (1702791) Central, SC
- Integral part of the site safety culture. Responsible for maintaining certain areas of the plant from a safety and housekeeping perspective. Actively participates in site safety programs.
- Required to learn and be proficient in all standard operating procedures that apply to the position.
- Use interface screens to produce Autofroth products in cylinders or tank trucks. Fill cylinders, totes and tank trucks of Isocyanate products.
- Use Trackmobile to move and spot railcars of raw materials. Unload raw materials from railcars, as needed.
- Fills in as needed for Operator III. Able to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels. Must be knowledgeable of raw materials and the hazards, handling of those raw materials and knowledgeable of the process equipment. Loads drums, totes, cylinders, and tank trucks with the finished product as required. Unloads raw materials via tank truck to bulk storage tank, tank truck to tote, and box vans of drums & totes.
- Drives switcher to move tank trucks, Trackmobile to move railcars and fork lifts for moving drums, totes and cylinders.
- DOT and HazMat trained. Operator II must be proficient in hazard communication and DOT/OSHA requirements for chemical transportation, storage, and handling.
- Uses the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform all necessary job functions within the process. This includes, but is not limited to, a full face respirator with air filtration as a small part of the normal job tasks and a SCBA as part of the HAZWOPER team
- Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations.
- Accomplish day-to-day and recurring EHS activities
- Safety suggestions
- Proactive hazard recognition and EHS issues
- Attend and participate in Safety meetings
- Waste management activities - etc

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of warehouse, industrial and/or production experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift license experience
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs
- Prior experience as Operator III
- Strong safety mindset and work practices
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, working with a high degree of accuracy
- Willing to be HAZWOPER responder trained

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
